Ministry Distinctive Statement
My ministry distinctive is the integration of theology, psychology, and compassionate presence in caring for individuals and communities experiencing suffering, trauma, grief, and significant life transitions.
Through my studies in Chaplaincy and Ministry Care, Clinical Pastoral Education experiences, and personal formation, I have developed a passion for understanding how faith, human experience, and healing intersect. I believe ministry requires more than theological knowledge; it requires the ability to enter another person's story with humility, wisdom, and compassion.
This distinctive reflects my desire to help individuals and communities encounter God's presence amid suffering while creating spaces where healing, belonging, and hope can flourish.
Overall Reflection
Throughout my seminary journey, I have become increasingly aware of the need for ministry that faithfully engages suffering, trauma, and the complexities of human experience. My studies and chaplaincy experiences have shaped my understanding that people often encounter their deepest questions about identity, meaning, faith, and hope during seasons of pain and uncertainty.
My passion lies at the intersection of theology and psychology. Theology provides a framework for understanding God's redemptive work, while psychology offers insight into the realities of human experience. Together, they have shaped my vision for ministry as a practice of compassionate accompaniment and holistic care.
These experiences have also influenced my growing interest in trauma-informed ministry. I believe the Church has a unique opportunity to become a place where wounded individuals encounter safety, healing, and belonging. My desire is to contribute to that vision through spiritual care, teaching, writing, and pastoral leadership.
